I was in the bookstore tonight and found this neat little treasure. It’s filled with some of the best facial expressions I’ve ever seen in a reference book. More than just smiles and frowns, the models’ expressions (45 different emotions in total) are full of character and personality. There’s over 200 pages of faces grouped by age, followed by a section on “sequential expressions” (sort of a frame-by-frame study of emotions), a kissing gallery, a phenomes gallery (great for lip-syncing), and 300 photos of hats and helmets. Overall an excellent study on human emotion. I can’t wait to start sketching these faces!
